(Knoxville, TN) – Knoxville Police officers responded to a crash on Kingston Pike near Market Place Boulevard around 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021,
The crash involved an SUV and a motorcycle. Based on the evidence at the scene and witness statements, KPD says it appears that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Kingston Pike when it struck the SUV, throwing both the driver and passenger from the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to UTMC, where he was pronounced deceased. The passenger of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Crash reconstruction units responded to the scene to investigate the crash. That investigation remains ongoing at this time.
