Second Harvest Food Bank and Bank of America Knoxville announce a new partnership aimed at addressing economic mobility and social progress in low-to-moderate income communities.
The partnership will center around Second Harvest’s Fresh Pantry Mobile Distribution initiative which focuses on distributing food and resources to residents at risk of hunger.
The Fresh Pantry Mobile Distribution will be held on Saturday, January 22 at 9:00 a.m. at 800 Howard Baker Jr. Ave in Knoxville.
The distribution is open to any resident who might be facing hunger. Over the next four years, Bank of America will support seven annual Fresh Pantry Mobile Distributions in three focused areas of Knoxville – Morningside Park, Lonsdale and Fort Sanders.
Elaine Streno, Executive Director says, “Second Harvest is honored to partner with Bank of America to bring Fresh Pantry Mobile Distributions to more locations in our service area. We all know that fresh produce can be too costly for individuals living on tight budgets and these distributions will help provide nutritionally beneficial foods.”
“Bank of America Knoxville recognizes that people and communities of color continue to face significant challenges,” said Terry Cline, president of Bank of America Knoxville. “This partnership will help bring relief to underserved communities located in Knoxville by providing critical resources to residents in need.”
