Shoes for School is an annual event that provides new shoes and school supplies for Knoxville area children.
The Knoxville Area Urban League wants to be sure all kids are equipped with back-to-school basics. They say it gives students stability and boosts their self-esteem so that they can successfully start a new year in the classroom.
The group works with other nonprofits to identify and register children ages 5-12 who need the most assistance.
