Jaloni Cambridge paired 20 points with eight rebounds and No. 12 Ohio State used a big second half to beat No. 8 Maryland 74-66 in Thursday night’s Big Ten Conference showdown at Columbus, Ohio.
Cotie McMahon’s 14 points, Taylor Thierry’s 13 points and reserve Kennedy Cambridge’s 12 points also boosted Ohio State (18-1, 7-1), which outscored Maryland 47-32 after halftime.
Kaylene Smikle’s 17 points led all five Terrapins starters in double figures. Maryland (16-3, 6-2) had a 48-34 rebounding advantage but was outscored 20-5 in points off turnovers. The Terrapins had 17 giveaways, while the Buckeyes had six.
Maryland built a 29-14 lead in the second quarter before Ohio State closed to within seven at halftime. The Buckeyes opened the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run to go up 64-54, and the Terrapins never seriously threatened from there.

Lauren Betts pumped in 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Bruins cruised in Piscataway, N.J.
Londynn Jones had 12 points, Angela Dugalic added 11 points and Kiki Rice chipped in with 10 points for the Bruins (19-0, 7-0 Big Ten), who led 68-48 entering the fourth quarter.
Kiyomi McMiller had 17 points, Destiny Adams notched 15 points and JoJo Lacey supplied 14 points for Rutgers (8-12, 0-9), which never led. The Scarlett Knights shot 35.3 percent from the field.
No. 3 Notre Dame 89, Boston College 63
Hannah Hidalgo’s 23 points led the Fighting Irish, who shot 51.5 percent from the field in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Olivia Miles with 16 points and Maddy Westbeld with 14 points also helped Notre Dame (17-2, 8-0 ACC). The Irish outscored Boston College 51-30 in the second and third quarters combined.
T’yana Todd racked up 18 points for Boston College (12-9, 3-5), which made only four of 20 shots from 3-point range and was charged with 20 turnovers.
Texas A&M 61, No. 11 Kentucky 55
Aicha Coulibaly scored 21 points and the Aggies had a strong finishing stretch at College Station, Texas.
Texas A&M took the lead at 55-52 on Sole Williams’ 3-pointer with 3:02 left. Williams hit four free throws in the final 32 seconds. Lauren Ware added 10 points and four blocks for the Aggies (10-8, 3-3 SEC), who held Kentucky to nine fourth-quarter points.
Teonni Key notched 20 points and nine rebounds and Georgia Amoore had 15 points for the Wildcats (16-2, 5-1), who made just 1 of 18 3-point attempts and shot 31.3 percent from the field.
No. 13 North Carolina 76, Wake Forest 51
Lexi Donarski hit five 3-pointers on her way to 17 points for the host Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Reserves Grace Townsend and Lanie Grant scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, for North Carolina (18-3, 6-2 ACC), which shot 56.6 percent from the field. Donarski’s 3-point total matched Wake Forest’s 3-point output (5 of 14).
Rylie Theuerkauf scored 19 points for Wake Forest (7-12, 0-8), which committed 24 turnovers. Malaya Cowles added 10 points.
No. 18 Georgia Tech 75, Virginia 62
Dani Carnegie scored 29 points off the bench to help the Yellow Jackets to the road victory, which included Georgia Tech scoring the game’s final 11 points in Charlottesville, Va.
Tonie Morgan (11 assists) and Ariadna Termis provided 11 points apiece for Georgia Tech (17-3, 5-3 ACC). Kayla Blackshear racked up 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Kymora Johnson led Virginia (11-9, 3-5) with 22 points and reserve Breona Hurd posted 16 points.
No. 20 North Carolina State 74, Syracuse 66
Zoe Brooks tallied 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists and the Wolfpack scored the game’s final 11 points to escape with an Atlantic Coast Conference win in Syracuse, N.Y.
Madison Hayes recorded 18 points with nine rebounds and Aziaha James had 14 points for NC State (15-4, 7-1), which has won four straight games. Brooks hit a pair of free throws to put the Wolfpack up 67-66 with 1:45 to play.
Syracuse (7-12, 1-7), which fell to 0-4 vs. ranked opponents this season and was coming off Sunday’s 41-point loss at Boston College, didn’t score in the final 2:31. The Orange were led by Sophie Burrows (16 points, eight rebounds), Georgia Woolley (15 points) and Kyra Wood (14 points, nine rebounds).
