The Great Smoky Mountain Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is pleased to announce the annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Luncheon, an event that underscores the vital role philanthropy plays in our society.
This celebration acknowledges the transformative contributions of the community’s generous hearts and the professionals who channel that generosity into meaningful impact.
On November 2, 2023, from 11:30am-1:30pm at The Foundry on the Fair Site, we will come together in gratitude to honor those who have made enduring differences in the East Tennessee region.
Legacy Award
This year, the NPD Legacy Award, the chapter’s most distinguished honor, will be presented to Linda C. Vaughn and her late husband Emmet P. (Buck) Vaughn. Their sustained and profound contributions to
numerous organizations have indelibly shaped the philanthropic landscape of East Tennessee.

Nonprofit Professional Fundraiser of the Year: Elaine Streno, Second Harvest Food Bank of ET

Congratulations to all nominees and award recipients
The National Philanthropy Day Luncheon is not only a celebration but also an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to demonstrate their gratitude.
Individual tickets and Community Table registrations are currently available. Hosting a Community Table for $350 allows organizations to honor a board member, donor, staff, or volunteer and shines a light on their dedication and achievements.
Table honorees will be individually recognized at the luncheon, profiled in the program, and presented with a unique gift
commemorating the occasion. AFP membership is not mandatory for registration and table honorees.
