(TOWNSEND, TN) – Townsend will be the setting for the inaugural Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival. It’s a full-day event packed with
entertainment for the whole family.
Leading up to the main event, the Tennessee Smokies will host Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival Night at the Smokies on Friday, May 21. Attendees can get a selfie with Bigfoot, watch fireworks after the game and win free Bigfoot merchandise—allowing
attendees already in town for the festival to enjoy Friday night entertainment.
Bigfoot race organizers will be on hand to register racers for the Great Smoky Mountain Bigfoot 5K and Fun Run taking
place the following morning.
The Festival kicks off the at the Townsend Visitors Center on Saturday, May 22 located at 7906 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway where the Bigfoot 5K begins at 9 a.m. followed by the 1-mile fun run at 10 a.m.
Race participants receive a Bigfoot swag-bag that includes a t-shirt, medal, a neck gaiter and more.
The main festival begins at 12 p.m. while other kid-friendly events will take place at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center to keep the younger attendees entertained.
“Blount County is excited to bring the Bigfoot festival to Smokies this year,” said Blount Partnership Director of Tourism Kim Mitchell. “This outdoor festival will offer unique events for all ages.”

As a special headline act, Saxsquatch will perform.

#1 Amazon book, American Cryptids
Bigfoot enthusiasts will enjoy chainsaw carving in the likeness of the beast as well as square
dancing and live music throughout the day. Multiple vendors will be on hand with Bigfoot
merchandise and food truck vendors with unique Bigfoot festival menus promise to delight.
Well-versed Bigfoot experts will be on hand to answer all attendee questions and talented
storytellers will enlighten the crowd with thrilling Bigfoot encounters.
A surprise Bigfoot and Mrs. Bigfoot event will be featured at the festival.
Settling a feud with sighting naysayers, Bigfoot joins wrestlers from the Battle Royal
Championship Wrestling troop in the squared circle and Patty, star of the Amazon Prime
Documentary BIG FUR, will be on hand for photo-opts.
Enjoy square dancing and live music throughout the day, vendors with Bigfoot merchandise
and food truck vendors with unique Bigfoot festival menus.
