The Second Saturday Concert Series wraps up a full Summer of music Saturday, August 12th, with Leftfoot Dave & The Magic Hats playing at the Cove, and Outta the Blue taking the stage at Clayton Park.
The free concerts are set for 6-8 p.m. on Saturday and have been met with a tremendous response from Knox County residents and visitors since the kickoff in June.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and food. However, no alcohol is allowed.
Leftfoot Dave and the Magic Hats describes themselves as “French Horn infused Blues,” and they always bring the boogie! Outta the Blue is a “Newgrass” harmonious band, featuring The Holloway Sisters and their guitar picking dad.
You can find out more about both bands on their Facebook pages.
The Cove, located at 11808 S. Northshore Drive, is the county’s most visited park. It features several summertime amenities, including a beach, playground, sand volleyball court, walking trail, and fishing areas. River Sports also rents canoes and kayaks.
Clayton Park, located at 7347 Norris Freeway, includes a pavilion, grills, walking trail, and playground.
If any concert is canceled because of the weather or other circumstances, the county will post a notification to the Parks and Rec Facebook page, as well as the department’s Twitter page.
