Good Morning East Tennessee! That feels so good to say! It’s Jay Mac, your Rock N Roll Mama. A 20 year radio warrior, and for 15 of those 20 years, The Night Show was my stomping ground. What a crazy blessing it is to now wake up every morning, look at the beautiful Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, and get to crank up the classics on the mighty WIMZ. Someone pinch me, cause I must be dreaming!

When I’m not here on top of Sharps Ridge, you’ll probably find me getting some wind therapy on my motorcycle, burnin rubber in my GT, or belting out songs on a local stage. I’m unapologetically in love with Jesus, adore my husband and family, and I can tell you without hesitation that being a Grandma is the greatest gig I’ve ever had. Faith, Family, Horsepower, Rock ‘n’ roll, and a little attitude— You have now entered the world of Jay Mac! Buckle Up Buttercup!

I’ve been chasing microphones since 2011, starting in Indiana and eventually pulling a Peyton Manning–style reversal by landing in Knoxville in 2019. I’ve been here long enough to call East Tennessee home—and have strong opinions about the best back roads. I’m pretty easygoing, like fun conversation, and I am told that I am comfortably unpolished. I’m more “windows down, volume up” than “broadcast professional.” I know my classic rock, I have an unhealthy appreciation for Mick Jagger, and I believe the best radio sounds like a great hang with an incredible soundtrack. When I’m not on the air, I’m usually chasing creative ideas, jamming, or proving that Knoxville’s village idiot can be trusted with a microphone!
