TOKYO, May 19 (Reuters) – Japan’s economy grew an annualised 2.1% in the first quarter, government data showed on Tuesday, compared with the median market forecast for a 1.7% gain.
The growth in gross domestic product (GDP) translated into a quarterly increase of 0.5%, which compared with the median estimate for a 0.4% rise.
