Sep 07 (Field Level Media) – The Kansas City Current and sporting director Vlatko Andonovski mutually parted ways on Monday.
“Both parties determined that (his) requested transition from coaching into the sporting director role at the end of last season was not the right fit,” the NWSL team said in a statement.
Andonovski, 49, was hired as the head coach in Kansas City on Oct. 23, 2023. After leading the team to the NWSL Shield in 2025, he moved into the sporting director role and was replaced as head coach by Chris Armas.
“The Kansas City Current wishes Andonovski well in his future endeavors,” the team said.
Andonovski was head coach of the U.S. women’s national team from 2019-23.
