Oct 8 (Reuters) – The Washington Post has appointed media veteran Alex Wallace its chief operating officer, the newspaper said on Thursday
• Wallace will start on October 19 and work with CEO Jeff D’Onofrio to align teams across the company and track performance against business goals, the Post said
• She has worked as executive vice president and head of media and content at Yahoo, where she oversaw a portfolio spanning Yahoo News, Sports, Entertainment and Finance, as well as TechCrunch and other media and content businesses
• The appointment comes as the Post works to improve its financial performance — the company said last month it expects to end 2026 on its closest path to profitability in five years
• The Post last week also released its inaugural impact report and launched a campaign called “Relentless,” aimed at highlighting the work of its newsroom
• Wallace held production and editorial leadership positions at CBS News and NBC News
