NEW YORK, Oct 14 (Reuters) – JPMorgan Chase is hiring veteran senior consumer and retail M&A banker Richard Peacock from Bank of America, people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
Peacock, who joined Bank of America over a decade ago, is the latest in a string of managing directors to leave the United States’ second-largest bank.
Earlier this year, Peacock was named co-head of the bank’s newly created private capital M&A group to help private equity firms across sectors monetize their assets.
Bank of America declined to comment, and Peacock could not be reached for comment. JPMorgan has not responded to a request for comment.
Bank of America lost another senior consumer and retail dealmaker over the summer when Andrew Conway departed to become Citigroup’s global chair of consumer and retail investment banking.
JPMorgan has hired a raft of prominent Bank of America bankers in recent months, including David Fishman, Amy Lissauer and Kevin Brunner.
But Bank of America has also said that it continues to invest in talent and has hired more than 40 new managing directors in the corporate and investment bank this year.
